If you build a following on any of the social media sites such as facebook you can post links to your website and encourage people to click through to the desired page on your website. Do not post images, articles or videos on the social media sites. Post quality content on your website as the main aim is to get people/traffic to your website.
4) Use videos
Video sharing websites are a great way to generate traffic. Within videos you can promote your website and the services/products you have to offer. Make sure the videos are informative, interesting and to the point. Always include a link to your website in the description of the video making it easier for people.
